Bank Statements -
Cancelled cheques including the month
following the year end date, bank reconciliation
for the last month.
Receivables -
Notes as to the portion
that is
likely not collectible
(by customer).
New
asset purchases - Supporting documentation
including any leasing arrangements: vehicles, equipment,
furniture,
computer, leasehold improvements, etc.
New Financing
Arrangements -
Mortgage statements and loan agreements;
contact person at the financial institution and details
on any security pledged as collateral; personal line
of credit statements if used for business.
GST Returns as filed and any notices of assessment.
PST returns as filed and any notices of assessment.
Federal Corp
Tax statements, notices and assessments received.
Provincial
Corp Tax statements, notices and assessments received.
Employee
Source Deductions - all forms for remittances made
during the fiscal year as well as the month following
the year-end date.
Investment Statements - certificates
for short term deposits, trading summaries and account
statements if applicable.
Home Office Statements -
Summary of following expenses: mortgage statement,
utilities, home insurance, property taxes, repairs
and maintenance; details of any maintenance contracts
or significant deposits.
Clients Who Do Their Own Bookkeeping - provide back up disk or back up file
by
e-mail. Please note the software package used along with the specific version
to ensure that it is accessible by our staff (include password if applicable).
Clients Who Don't Do Their Own Bookkeeping - cheque stubs, supporting documentation
for business related expenses, expenses separated by three catagories as follows:
credit card, company cheque, cash out of pocket.
New Clients Checklist: In addition to business year end preparation checklist
(above) please provide the following:
• Articles of incorporation
• Prior year financial statements
• Prior year corporate
tax returns (T2, CT23)
• Detailed breakdown of accounts payable and accounts receivable
amount shown on the prior years financial statements.
